Moore’s Island Students Showase Their Talent in National Arts Festival

The 2018 E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival (NAF) Adjudications started in a special way, on March 2, 2018, as students from the Moore’s Island Comprehensive School showcased their dancing and singing skills, during a performance of the school’s “Class Act” Performing Arts Department of the play “A Raisin in the Sun”. The performance filled the University of The Bahamas Performing Arts Centre with students from schools such as C. R. Walker Senior High School, Saint Augustine College, and the H. O. Nash, L. W. Young and D. W. Davis Junior High Schools.
For their adjudications, the Moore’s Island students performed an African- themed dance, a dance duet to Gloria Estefan’s “Anything for You” and formed a choir and band trio for a gospel number. Also pictured are Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture representatives discussing the performances with Dance Adjudicator and icon Lawrence Carroll.  Pictured (from left) are Senior Cultural Officer Sonovia Pierre, Administrative Cadet Geonese Nairn-Ewing, Senior Executive Secretary Regina Hamilton and Mr. Carroll.
