‘Human Trafficking’ Course Participants Visit Minister Dames

Bahamian participants in Session 57: “Strengthening our Resolve to Respond to Trans-National Crimes” — a three-week specialized training course on Human Trafficking — paid a courtesy call on Minister of National Security, the Hon. Marvin H. Dames on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at his offices, where they presented him with a commemorative plaque from Session 57.  The specialized course centered on building a national response model for combating trafficking in persons.  It was sponsored by the U.S. Embassy’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section.  Ten participants from a number of government agencies attended the conference held in Roswell, New Mexico.  Pictured (from left to right) are Superintendent Stephen La-Rhoda, Department of Immigration; Zenovia Coakley-Mills, Assistant Director, Department of Social Services; Eucal Bonaby, Prosecutor, Attorney General’s Office; Minister Dames; Susanne Knowles, First Assistant Secretary, Ministry of National Security and Chair, Trafficking in Persons Inter-Ministry Committee; Superintendent Adrian Strachan, Ministry of National Security and Chair, Trafficking in Persons, Task Force; and Dr. Kevin Simmons, Ministry of Health.
