Male arrested at LPIA for Drug Possession


A 29-year-old Guyanese male, a resident of Suriname was taken into custody at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) Wednesday, 11th April 2018, after he was suspected of having smuggled dangerous drugs into the country. According to reports shortly before 4:00pm, the man arrived in The Bahamas via Jamaica and was taken into custody. He was taken to the hospital and excreted a number of capsules, each containing cocaine. He is expected to be formally charged once he is released from the hospital.
