Former Western Kentucky center Dwight Coleby was selected to the initial roster for the New Orleans Pelicans’ summer league team, the organization announced Friday. Coleby (6-9, 245) spent one season with the Hilltoppers after two at Kansas and two at Mississippi. He averaged 11.1 points and eight rebounds in all of WKU’s 38 games and his 6 blocked shots were the seventh-most in a single season. The Bahamas native also registered 11 double-doubles after totaling just three in his three previous active college seasons. He was with the Bahamas senior men’s national basketball team in Puerto Rico when he got the call and had to leave immediately.

That game could feature Ayton and third overall pick Luka Doncic, who was traded on draft night to the Mavericks. On Sunday, the Phoenix Suns’ No. 1 overall Deandre Ayton threw out the first pitch of the Arizona Diamondbacks game. On the receiving end was Archie Bradley, a 2011 first-round pick for the D-backs.
