Grand Hyatt Baha Mar congratulates the 2018 Bahamas National Culinary Team for its gold medal-winning performance, beating out the top chefs and mixologists from the region at the Taste of The Caribbean competition recently held in Miami, Florida. The team won a total of six medals and several members received specialty awards and inductions into the competition’s Hall of Fame. The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar team members who participated in the event included Chef Carvison Pratt, Chef Tamar Rahming, Chef Celeste Smith and Mixologist Derrick Blackmon. Chef Smith was awarded a silver medal in the pastry chef category while Mixologist Blackmon was awarded a bronze medal in the bartender category. “We’re very proud of the national team and especially proud of our Grand Hyatt Baha Mar team members. This team is showing the world that The Bahamas has outstanding culinary talent,” said Brent Martin, executive chef at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar.
