Police investigate traffic fatalities


Police in New Providence is investigating two traffic accidents which have left two adult males dead. In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 9:00pm, Monday, 6th August 2018, a male was walking on Carmichael Road in the area of Boatswain Hill, when he was struck by a vehicle causing serious injuries. Paramedics were called to the scene and as they were attending to the victim inside the ambulance, the ambulance was hit by a Ford Expedition, causing minor damages to the emergency vehicle. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. All drivers remained on scene and are assisting police with this investigation. In a second incident, shortly after 3:00am, Tuesday, 7th August 2018 a male was walking on Graham Drive, Yellow Elder Gardens when he was struck by a silver 2 door car, which left the scene. Paramedics were called to the scene and attempted to revive the victim; however, he succumbed to his injuries. Investigations are being continued by RBPF Traffic Department Officers.
