The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, along with the assistance of members of the public has led to officers successfully recovering two illegal firearms from the streets of New Providence, in separate incidents. In the first incident, shortly after 5:00pm, Wednesday, 26th September 2018, Drug Enforcement Officers, acting on information, conducted a search of a home at Parkway Avenue and recovered a .380 pistol and three (3) rounds of ammunition. An adult male was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged before a Magistrate Court later this week.
In the second incident, shortly before 2:00am, Thursday, 27th September 2018 Mobile Division Officers were on patrol on Elizabeth Avenue when they observed a silver Honda vehicle with four males. The men upon seeing the officers began acting in a suspicious manner. Officers were able to bring the vehicle to a stop, conducted a search and recovered a .38 revolver and 3 rounds of ammunition. The men were taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged before a Magistrate Court later this week.
