Police investigate the country’s latest homicide


Police on the Island of New Providence is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the persons responsible for two separate shooting incidents, which left one adult male dead and another male injured. On Tuesday, March 19th, 2019,

In the first incident, shortly after 11:00am, a man was at Mackey Street, and Wilton Street, when he was
approached by a lone male, who produced a firearm and shot him, before speeding away in a silver Honda.
The victim succumbed on the scene.

In the second incident, shortly before 9:00pm police responded to Lady Slipper Avenue, Garden Hills, after
receiving reports that a male had been shot and was transported to hospital. Reports are that the victim was
exiting his vehicle in front of his home, when two males armed with a firearm accosted him. A struggled ensued
which resulted in the male being shot before the assailants speed away in a white vehicle. The victim is listed
in stable but serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have information concerning these incident,
