  1. In the words of Shirley Caesar, I remember mama in a happy way. Mary Butler or “Shirley Mae” was my delightful grandmother whom I miss dearly. I lived with her when I was little, obnoxious and cheeky, but when “ma” got a hold of me I’d become a saint. Educated big men and women who don’t know how to behave! Since, it took a wise old lady to keep the peace, I admire her wisdom. She wasn’t rich but wisdom was her treasure. To this day, I remember the wise words of a 90 year old woman, no education but blessed as ever. She’d say ‘manice’ and respect takes you through the world. I was so annoyed at these words being repeated at every visit. I feel bad that I always tried avoiding her. Sadly, she passed away 3 years ago in Hurricane Matthew while she was sleeping. “ Gone with the wind, someone said. She taught me respectful to authority and prayer as most important. Because of her, I’m far better than I am today.

  2. First of all my Mother loves the HEAVENLY FATHER. She is a woman worthy of praise she cares and shsres in many ways. When you come to her house she makes you comfortable and entertained. She is whitty and loves 💕 to make you laugh she did this in her quiet way never boasting or looking for pay. My mother gives her all in all to whatever purpose she was called. She loves people and shares her life experience with them she enjoys becoming someone’s friend. Whether you were young or old she saw the beauty in what they had to offer.

  3. My mother is a wonderful blessing to me! She struggles to make end meets, she enrolls me into a private school knowing that I will do my best by the grace of God. Every day, she tells me I can do all things through Christ who has strengthened me with my dedication and eagerness to grow knowledge, I will learn and I will succeed. My mother is the person who encourages me and push me to do my best. I can’t imagine where I would be right now if didn’t have her in my life to show me right from wrong. Every day, I feel bless just to see her for another day.

  5. My mother is pious, peaceful and powerful. Many of her strong characteristics she learned from her grandmother who gave her a solid foundation in the church. She carries these lessons in her heart and uses them to provide comfort to all she interacts with. Whether is baking for the community, giving neighbours rides to the hospital, or uplifting complete strangers.

My mom is the ultimate mom, she not only my mummy, but a grandmother and a community mother, and behalf of everyone she has impacted, we love you and thank you!

  6. The author of the hymn, “Hark, My Soul! It is the Lord!” asks in verse three, “’Can a woman’s tender care cease towards the child she bare?”. These words describe my mother, Garnell Daphne Kemp Rolle. She has always, cared and nurtured me and shown me by example and in practical ways how to live and serve others. Even when ill she ensured that I was taken care of.
My mother now a retired educator made time to serve in civic groups such as Toastmasters and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and continues to work within the church.

  7. If there is one person that I can say is the absolute greatest in my life it’s my mother. A caring person and one that I’ve never taken – Meka Cooper. Someone so majestic and graceful. So wise and prudent. Whether it was making sure I always had food to eat, putting socks and sweater on me while asleep during a cold night, or someone you know stating how much all your mother could talk about was how much she loves you and is proud of you. My mother is my M.V.P (Most Valuable Person) in my life. I Love you.
