WNBA Player Jonquell Jones sets up GoFundMe Campaign for Hurricane Dorian Relief

Jonquel Jones has captured her first trophy of the 2019 WNBA season. The WNBA announced Monday the Connecticut Sun center won one of the league’s “Peak Performer” awards for the 2019 season. Jones led the WNBA in rebounding with 9.7 boards, will receive a trophy crafted by Tiffany & Co. in honor of her accomplishments.

Jones and the Suns by virtue of the the 2nd best record in the leauge has received a bye through the semi finals . All cash sales from the Sun’s first playoff game on Sept. 17 will benefit victims of Hurricane Dorian. The Chicago Sky truly embody the meaning of “bigger than basketball.” All 12 women on the WNBA team’s roster came together to donate $5,100 of their own money to Connecticut Sun center and Bahamas native Jonquel Jones’ Hurricane Dorian relief efforts. Jones set up a GoFundMe campaign to aid those recouping from the storm in the island nation and has already donated $10 thousand to the cause. The GoFundMe already had raised $17,350 in just six hours.
