Canadian-Bahamian retired NBA champion and actor Rick Fox and Grammy Award recording artist Kanye West visited the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA on Gladstone Road on Thursday, October 3, 2019. Both, who are also businessmen met with officials at NEMA and held preliminary talks about the reconstruction
phase of communities impacted by the Category 5 Hurricane Dorian which impacted North and Central Abaco and East End Grand Bahama just over a month ago.
They met with John Michael Clarke of the reconstruction committee and Godfrey Rolle, Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ representative at NEMA. Following the meeting Fox and West joined members of Emergency Support Function groupings who just finished the afternoon in-house briefing in NEMA’s National Emergency Operations Centre to watch Shaunae Miller-Uibo compete at the IAAF World Championships in the women’s 400m.
