Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis met with officials from the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) on Tuesday 15 October. The meeting, held at the Office of the Prime Minister, included discussions on the possibility of expanding regional insurance coverage to include some aspects of housing. CCRIF officials shared with Prime Minister Minnis that the Insurance facility is also working on a program to offer insurance coverage for public utilities and the fisheries sector.

The meeting also covered ways that developed nations can assist vulnerable small island developing states (SIDS) by contributing to the fund to help with recovery and reconstruction following a storm.
