Bahamians from all walks of life packed the ballroom of Government House, Mount Fitzwilliam, Monday, December 9, to witness the Presentation of Insignia and Warrants of Appointment to nation builders, who are recipients of Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2019. Dignitaries, members of the Diplomatic Corps, family, friends, well-wishers and senior government officials, attended the Investiture.

The Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis, Prime Minister, said the honourees exemplified generosity of spirit and the best of what it means to be a Bahamian. “Over many decades they have touched the lives of many thousands of Bahamians and others. They have given service in areas such as the uniformed branches, nursing, religious ministry, civic life, philanthropy, medicine, education, commerce, public service, sports and other areas of national health,” he said.

“We are here to recognize citizens who devoted their full measure in the service of their fellow citizens. It is my privilege to thank these fine men and women who have been appointed to various honours by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.” The Prime Minister extended gratitude to the honourees, on behalf of the government and the people of The Bahamas, for their example and their contribution to various areas of public life.
