The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to advise that H.E. Keva L. Bain, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of The Bahamas to the United Nations Office in Geneva, was appointed to serve on the Advisory Body of UNCTAD. The Advisory Body advises the Secretary-General of UNCTAD on the broad objectives, content, and structure of regular training courses offered by UNCTAD. These courses are designed to assist capital based policymakers and academics gain a better understanding of the interrelated issues areas of trade, investment, finance and technology; and how to participate and derive gains from
trade and investment negotiations.
Courses are organized in the developing regions of Africa; Arab Economies; Economies in transition/Eastern Europe; and Latin America-Caribbean. Ambassador Bain, who is also The Bahamas’ Ambassador to Switzerland and, herself, a former recipient of the training organized by UNCTAD, joins 15 other Ambassadors as a member of the Advisory Body. The duration of the appointment is one year (2020 to 2021). This is a proud moment for The Bahamas and the Ministry congratulates HE Keva L. Bain on
this wonderful achievement.
