Member of Parliament for North Andros and the Berry Islands, the Hon. Leonard Lightbourne is calling for the completion of construction to the Lowe Sound Primary School. Construction of the school has faced delays since 2013.
Lightbourne spoke with ZNS News from the construction site. He said, “this school has been in this community for over ten years. However, we’re looking at 85% completion and we look forward to having this school completed hopefully in the next few months to a year.”
The Andros MP also explained the importance of the school to his community. “This education, tertiary building is important to this community also for North Andros for our future education for our kids. We’re just urging the government to insist that we get this open as soon as possible.”
Lightbourne added, “for the residents here we don’t want this building to become somewhat of an eyesore in this community.”
According Lightbourne the school is 85% complete.
