Arawak Cay Prepares for Reopening

Strict social distancing protocols are to be implemented at popular cultural site Arawak Cay as reopening nears.

According to President of Arawak Cay Conch Fish Food Vendors Association, Rodney Russell this includes not allowing customers inside.

“We intend to draw a line across our entrance, the staff will come and take the order…and the customer will wait outside in his/her vehicle until the number is called. So, we will have then a curbside operation,” he said.

The suggestion along with others have been forwarded to Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation (BCCEC) CEO, Jeffrey Beckles.

“I have not received a feedback yet…,” Mr. Russell said during an interview with ZNS News.

“But, most of us have put in the precautions we intend to run with so that we can facilitate our customers. We look forward to that day when the relevant authorities say we have the green light to remove the barricades and allow Bahamians to again patronize the Fish Fry.”
