President of the Miss Bahamas Organization, Michelle Malcolm is expressing her condolences at the passing of Anva Roberts of Bimini who participated in the pageant in 2007. Roberts’ body was discovered by a relative at her residence in Bailey Town.
Malcolm recalled seeing Roberts for the first time. She said, “I was on a golf court with my cameraman driving through the town and then I spotted this young lady and then I thought oh my God she is gorgeous. So I said to my cameraman, who was driving the cart, back up I have to talk to this young lady because, you know, I was obviously president of the Miss Bahamas Organization from that time. And so when we got even closer to her I saw how truly stunning she was.”
The Pageant President described Roberts as a loving and sweet person. ”She was not at all caught up in her looks as she could have easily done so as stunning as she was. But she was just a really genuine beautiful soul. And we all fell in love with her, we truly did. We thought she was such a remarkable young lady.”
Malcolm said that Roberts will always be remembered.
