President of the Bahamas Christian Council, Bishop Delton Fernander appeared on The Rundown talk show this week where he spoke about possible punishments for sex offenders.

Bishop Fernander suggested The Bahamas should revise its laws to include medical castration. He said, “I know castration it seems to be a strong word but once it’s medically induced it means that you won’t have the function for whatever period of time and you’ll have to come back in. Britain has already gone there and if Britain has already gone there some of the Caribbean colonies, used to be, would have adjusted their laws to kind of meet the challenges of their time.”

The Bahamas Christian Council President added, “we’ve got to come up with solutions as a country and what’s palatable for everybody.”
