In a recent interview, Canadian High Commissioner to The Bahamas, Mark Berman said his country is looking to improve trade and commerce between the two countries.

According to Berman more than a dozen Canadian investors will be coming to The Bahamas. “We have a number of people on green technology, energy transition, agri-food, FINTECH and IT Digicel. So it’s looking at those areas where I think there’s a real feeling that The Bahamas is a good place to invest,” he said.

The High Commissioner also spoke to the benefits of these future partnerships. He said, “I think it takes The Bahamas in the direction they want to go being a modern economy, being able to deal with issues of climate change in terms of green technologies and energy transition, being a modern society that focuses technology which is the direction that we’re going in.”

On the topic of climate change Berman said Canada is committed to issues like climate financing and its accessibility to countries like The Bahamas.
