The Coalition Of Independents Party (COI) held a vision launch event on Saturday where the party’s leadership and candidates outlined their vision for The Bahamas.

Party Leader and Candidate for Pinewood, Lincoln Bain told supporters, “ladies and gentlemen I want to make sure that you understand what you are hearing tonight. While you are hearing highlights from these able candidates, these are just the highlights of these visions. I want you to understand that these visions are so well put together. If you go on our website tonight when you’re finished and you look at these visions you are going to see that each one of these are booklets. Our vision for education is 80 pages alone. Our vision for education, we have put together the who, what, when, where and how.”

COI candidate for Seabreeze, William Knowles spoke about the party’s visions for the economy. He said, “the COI is committed to creating a financially empowered Bahamas where banks service the interest of the people, economic opportunities are abundant an financial independence is achievable for every Bahamian by 2030.”

The COI also promised free healthcare to every Bahamian without exception. Killarney candidate, Dr. Veronica McIver said, ” Bahamians will be asked to enroll in the Life Assurance Program, we’re gonna call it LAP, instead of paying premiums, get this, we will pay by staying healthy.”

Universal access to crown land is also part of the COI’s vision 2030. The party promises to allocate one acre of land to every Bahamian.

Bain said that the organic Bahamians have decided to come and fight for the country.
