Some 17 Haitian nationals were today boarded on a Bahamasair flight from the trek back home following their conviction in an Inagua court.
The 10 females and seven males were arraigned before Magistrate Andrew Forbes and convicted of illegal embarkation.
No fines were levied. However, deportation was ordered at the earliest convenience.
The US Coast Guard picked up the group along with four minors on Saturday and transferred them to Defence Force Patrol craft HMBS Bahamas in the area of Gaulding Cay.
The migrants were turned over to immigration officials in Matthew Town, Inagua a day later. The migrants were subsequently interviewed and assessed by a medical team.
