Comptroller of Customs, Ralph Munroe recently spoke with ZNS News about the demand for customs officers across the country.
He said, “we’ve got some 26, 28, depending on how you look at it, ports of entry from Matthew Town, Inagua to Walker’s Cay in Abaco. I say it that way because there is certain time you’d find for instance in Walker’s Cay where would be servicing Walker’s Cay as it stands now from Grand Cay. But added to that, for instance, in recent time we had Norman’s Cay that has been opened. We’re trying to get places like Staniel Cay with an officer in there. We just had request to have officers even in Half Moon Cay. We got people in places like Coco Cay in the Berry Islands and Great Stirrup Cay in the Berry Islands sometime Castaway Cay and of course now you’ve got Lighthouse Point and the old Ocean Cay with MSC down in Bimini. It’s just so many areas Bahamians probably don’t even realize.”
