Tourism officials are working aggressively at promoting the Family Islands once the country’s borders reopen.
“If we look around the world., I think everyone is understanding the power of tourism domestically; keeping hard earned and almost scare dollars at this time in our own community,” Tourism Director Joy Jibrilu told ZNS News.
“But I think more importantly, this lockdown has shown Bahamians how beautiful our country is, the diversity of all our islands and so many people have realized that they have really not discovered The Bahamas and so in partnership with the Out Island Promotion Board, we will be unveiling a domestic tourism campaign encouraging people to see those islands the whole world is actually clamoring to visit once this pandemic passes us.”
The prime minister has indicated that the borders could be opened July 1.
