A hydroponic lab was discovered on the island of Grand Bahama for the first time on Tuesday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Shanta Knowles told reporters officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit have been working intelligence to gather the information that led to the find.

Police executed a search warrant at a home where they found the hydroponic lab along with  marijuana.  Knowles said, “the team of officers came to this location and executed a warrant, this is Epsom Road in Freeport, executed a warrant on a home here and located a hydroponic lab with lots of sophisticated equipment and a number of marijuana plants and other THC products.”

Residents of the house at the time of the raid where arrested.  The Assistant Commissioner said, “we’ve taken four persons into custody, an adult male and three females.  Investigations is very early on so that that is as much as I can provide you with at this time.”

In addition to marijuana plants police seized, sunlight simulating lights, tents and ventilation system.

Knowles said officers were “consistent, day and night, going out trying to find the information, as much information as possible and the results here shows that they were quite diligent in what it was they wanted to achieve and we ask all other officers to follow suit.”
