“This team will support the ministry’s workforce as we prepare for a possibility of increases in cases anticipated with the reopening of the economy. This programme is adapted from John Hopkins University curriculum and includes seven training models that would be offered virtually to participants and the Surveillance Unit is modifying the programme to make it relevant to The Bahamas.”
As announced by the prime minister, there is also a COVID-19 Enforcement Unit charged with ensuring public health precautions are followed during the pandemic
“The Unit will also be responsible for monitoring individuals required to self-quarantine. We would like to make it clear and privacy and confidentiality will be protected. The Ministry of Health is also working with the Ministry of Tourism to establish a COVID-19 hotline specifically for hotels and vacation properties,” Dr. Dahl Regis said.
