The Ministry of Health confirms today that there are fifty-three (53) additional confirmed cases of COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to one thousand eighty-nine (1089).
There have been five hundred forty-six (546) confirmed cases of COVID-19 in New Providence, four hundred forty (440) confirmed cases in Grand Bahama, forty-five (45) confirmed cases in Bimini, thirty-one (31) confirmed cases in Abaco, twelve (12) confirmed cases in the Berry Islands, eight (8) confirmed cases in Cat Island, five (5) confirmed cases in Exuma, one (1) confirmed case in Eleuthera, and one (1) confirmed case in Inagua. The breakdown of the new cases for each island is as follows:

Investigations are ongoing, and health officials continue to follow the condition of the other current COVID-19 positive cases. In the 11th August, 2020, edition of the COVID-19 Bahamas Dashboard, the Ministry of Health reported that there were nine (9) pending cases of COVID-19. Up to the time of the publication of update #127, it was not confirmed in which island these cases were found. The Ministry of Health announces today, that all nine (9) of the pending cases originated in New Providence, and
have been accounted for in the total number of COVID-19 cases for that island.
The public is reminded to practice the following measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19:
wear a face mask when you leave home
maintain a physical distance of 6 feet from others;
wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 70% alcohol;
cover your cough or sneeze in your inner elbow or with a tissue; and
clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as phones, remote controls,
counters, doorknobs, and keyboards.
