The Free National Movement (FNM) send their condolences, to the family of the late Dr. Timothy McCartney, Finance Educator and the Bahamas’ first Psychologist.
Dr McCartney was one of the first students to attend St John’s, Bahamas leaving later to attend St. John’s University, Minnesota. He received his Doctor in Philosophy, University Strasbourg, France. Dr. McCartney was a example of hard work. He started out as a research assistant clinical psychology in St Cloud State College Minnesota to the foremost clinical psychologist in the Bahamas. Dr McCartney retired in 2014 as a Professor in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship, Nova University.
Dr. McCartney passed away today leaving behind a stellar record of service and sacrifice to country and a legacy in the field of Psychiatry. He received many awards over the years, such as the Golden Heart Award, Sir Victor Sassoon Heart Foundation plus many more. The Bahamas has lost a good son of the soil. May he rest in peace and rise in Glory.
