The Free National Movement announced Bishop Ricardo Grant as their candidate for the upcoming by-election in West Grand Bahama and Bimini on Thursday past following a meeting of their central council at the party’s New Providence headquarters.

Over the weekend Grant along with party officials traveled to the constituency to launch their campaign themed Focused On You. A rally was held on the island of Grand Bahama on Saturday following a motorcade.

At the event Bishop Grant told supporters, “for too long we have seen, in this great country, neglect. We’ve seen in this country, too long, what it is to be given promises and empty promises.”

Grant continued saying, “its not about Ricardo Grant, its not about what his resume and all of that. It’s all about the people. It’s all about the citizens. It’s all about you.”

Also addressing the crowd was party leader and Member of Parliament for Marco City, the Hon. Michael Pintard. He said, “there should be opportunities where we can tell the world about our culture, create heritage and eco-tourism, opportunities right here in West Grand Bahama and Bimini.”
