Minister for Grand Bahama and Member of Parliament for Pineridge, the Hon. Ginger Moxey was a featured speaker at the Progressive Young Liberals Youth Conclave held on Grand Bahama on January 31st and February 1st.

During her presentation Moxey highlighted the government’s efforts to revitalize the economy of Grand Bahama speaking about the $665 million shipyard redevelopment, the $600 million Celebration Key project, the $210 million health care facility and other projects.

Moxey called on the young PLPs to control the narrative.  She said, “if you are a youth with with moxey no one should be able to tell you to that your administration is doing nothing.”

She highlighted, “smashing tourism records, decreasing unemployment to the lowest in over a decade to 8.7%, increasing minimum wage, building homes, addressing labour issues head on, reducing VAT when those folks increased it, launching COLAB” as some of the accomplishments of the Davis administration.

The Grand Bahama Minister also focused on government initiatives aimed specifically at assisting young people.  Along with the National Youth Guard and the School Breakfast Program, she said, “expunging records to give second chances, hiring many young people in immigration, customs and on the police and defence force ant through our summer jobs program, confirming hundreds of young people on the PEP program.”

The conclave was held under the theme Keep Your Eyes Fixed On 2026.
