The Grand Bahama Port Authority (GBPA) officially opened its satellite office in New Providence on Wednesday.

GBPA President, Ian Rolle was in attendance at a reception held at the new offices and spoke with ZNS News on the sidelines. He said, “our mission statement at the Grand Bahama Port Authority is to better the lives of the Grand Bahama community and by extension The Bahamas. So Freeport is a special gem in The Bahamas that I think is very much under utilized by a number of business persons and so we are here to present the various opportunities to not only the New Providence market but the entire Bahamas.”

Rolle said the New Providence office will offer the same services available in Grand Bahama. “The main thing is to encourage persons, make them aware of the opportunities that exist. Presently we have over $2 billion of projects in the pipelines at the moment. And so the idea is how do we now plus Bahamians into the $2 billion worth of activity happening.”

The GBPA New Providence office is located in the One West Business Park on Windsor Field Road.
