The Bloneva Building in Freeport, Grand Bahama has been torn down.

Assistant City Maintenance Manager at the GBPA, Renardo Karageorgiou was on hand during the demolition. He said, “today we have a private demolition that is going on and it is the former Bloneva Building and we wish to applaud the owners for taking the necessary steps to demolish this building because we have a common interest in seeing the city clean, green and pristine.”

Karageorgiou urged other derelict building owners to renovate or tear them down. “We want to ask other property owners to maintain, repair or demolish their properties if it falls into a state of being structurally unsound. We are grateful to see this happen today cause we believe it will bring about much needed improvement for the general area of the downtown area and the Mall Drive.”
