Police are investigating the discovery of the body of an infant in the area of Golden Isles Road on Saturday.

Police Press Liaison Officer, Chief Superintendent Sheria King spoke with reporters on the scene.  She said, “officers of the Carmichael Road Police Station was notified of remains found off Golden Isles Road.  Officers were dispatched and they discovered what is believe to be the remains of a decomposed infant.”

King appealed to the public for any information.  “We’re urging and pleading to the surrounding community and the Bahamian public at large if they have any information that can assist us in this investigation to please contact any of their local police stations.”

The Press Liaison Officer added, “we’re in the initial stage of the investigation as well as the sensitive nature of this incident we ask that you allow the police to do a thorough investigation and once information is obtained further updates will be provided.”
