Member of Parliament for Central and South Abaco, the Hon. John Pinder recently spoke about job opportunities and illegal immigration on the island of Abaco.
He said, “this administration is really putting a hard push on making Bahamians the owners, making Abaconians the owners of the businesses, of the hotels, 0f the touristic opportunities that we have here on Abaco and that is very important, as well as inviting Bahamians from across the nation to come work here in Abaco. We have an unbalanced illegal population that is here for one reason.”
Pinder said illegal immigrants are on Abaco to work and appealed to Bahamians to come to Abaco to full the available positions.
The Abaco MP also encouraged Bahamians to become entrepreneurs highlighting the government’s efforts to assist small businesses. “Micro businesses turn into small businesses and they turn into medium and large businesses and this is how you grow an economy. Abaco is growing. We want to continue to grow and we want to help the rest of The Bahamas grow as well.”
On the foreign influence on Abaco Pinder said Bahamians need to take control of our communities.
