A 38 year old man was shot and killed in the Nassau Village area on Wednesday afternoon.

Police Press Liaison Officer, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings was on the scene where she briefed members of the media. She said, “a male was standing in front of a residence on Catherine Street when a gold Nissan small Japanese vehicle pulled along side him. It is reported that a male exited the vehicle, opened fire on the victim hitting him multiple times. He succumbed to his injuries on scene.”

Police were made aware of shots fired in the area through their shot spotter technology. According to Chief Superintendent Skippings the victim was being electronically monitored at the time of his death. She added, “he’s on bail for murder and armed robbery and also possession of an unlicensed firearm. We are actively investigating this latest incident.”

The Chief Superintendent expressed that police are concerned and encouraged members of the public reach out to the police about any known conflicts.
