RBDF extends a Helping Hand with Non-Financial Assistance

On Wednesday past, members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force answered a family's financial cry for help. After viewing a news story of a woman struggling with 6 children to make ends meet, the young marines got together to assist this family. Together, they bought over $300.00 worth of much needed grocery items for the Carmichael Road family.

RBDF Monitors Burning Vessel

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force is closely working with the Royal Bahamas Police Force, supported by US Coast Guard cutter, who are investigating the circumstances of a Haitian vessel that was destroyed by fire, off Stella Maris, Long Island on 30 April 2020. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Operations Center was alerted to a medical emergency onboard a Haitian Freighter reportedly enroute to Haiti from New Providence around 1:30 am on Wednesday 29 April 20.

On behalf of the Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, it is with a profound sense of sadness that I extend condolences to the family of the late Francis Wilson, who served at the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs for many years. Mr. Wilson was from Sierra Leone, but later became a British citizen. He was known throughout the region as a Legal Drafting Consultant.

Elizabeth Avenue Temporarily Closed to Vehicular Traffic

The public is advised that effective 9 p.m. Friday May 1st, 2020, Elizabeth Avenue, south of Shirley Street, will be closed to vehicular traffic. The two-week closure will facilitate enabling works at the Princess Margaret Hospital's Emergency Department as part of the Urgent & Emergency Care project for New Providence. During this period of roadworks, no pedestrian traffic will be permitted to traverse Elizabeth Avenue South.

Campbell participates in Launch of ProMis App for Social Services
