The need is great for The Bahamas Red Cross. The economic crisis brought on by COVID-19 pandemic has found the organization feeding more than 1,000 people daily. Director General of the Red Cross Sean Brennen said of this figure, 850 are in New Providence and an estimated 250 in Grand Bahama.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is liaising with the Ministries of Aviation, Immigration, Customs, Health and National Security as well as the Airport Authority ahead of two upcoming repatriation flights. If all goes as planned, the flights will leave Florida via Bahamasair on Thursday, May 21 and Saturday, May 23 at 2:00pm.
