The Cabinet of the Turks and Caicos Islands has appointed liaison officers in The Bahamas in an attempt to build stronger ties between the two countries.

Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Charles Washington Missick is in The Bahamas attending the CARICOM Heads of Government meetings and spoke about the move while attending a TCI diaspora event on Monday. “As we work together it may be an opportunity to locate assets in our different countries so that we can support each other across our economies and the social field. For many, many years we’ve sent Turks and Caicos Islanders to The Bahamas at the hospitals here. I think we still use Doctor’s Hospital for some of our patients and conceivably given the proximity of Inagua and Mayaguana to TCI the future may determine that we also reciprocate with our facilities.

Renee Mills will head the TCI office in New Providence while Canon Curtis Robinson will have charge for the office in Grand Bahama.
