The faction of the Valley Boys Junkanoo group led by Trevor Davis, Valley Boys:  The Way Forward participated in the 2024 Boxing Day and 2025 New Year’s Day Junkanoo parades as a fun group.

Valley Boys: The Way Forward Public Relations Officer, Devaughn Jones spoke with ZNS News on Thursday expressing pride in the group’s performance at both parades.  He said, “obviously it could have been better.  We had some challenges leading up to the parade obviously as it relates to our ability to participate because that was brought into question but fortunately we were able to put that to a head and we had some success.  So we’re very happy with where we got.  I was talking to a member of that side and everyone was saying boy we gat to fix this.  I said you realize we produce four separate banners, eight different leads all this could have been a combined effort.  So I think everybody understands that there are one or two people that we just need to have some serious conversations with and chart a way forward.”

Long time Valley Boys member Michael Foster clarified that The Way Forward Movement is not a Junkanoo group.  “The Way Forward Movement is a committee of twelve trustees of the Valley Boys who sought to correct the wrongs that was in the group, that’s where we are.  So this misnomer put out there, particularly by the press, that The Way Forward is a new Junkanoo group, it not.  I even heard one reporter say something like we were making our debut and that’s obviously from the assumption that we were a new group, we’re not.  We are the original Valley Boys,” Foster said.

The two Valley Boys factions currently have a case before the court about the use of the name.
