At a recently held press event releasing the crime statistics for 2022, Commissioner of Police, Clayton Fernander revealed that the Royal Bahamas Police Force confiscated 1,137lbs of cocaine, 9,659lbs of marijuana and 4,849 marijuana plants.

Fernander also revealed the monetary value of the drugs. “The value of that cocaine is $10,336,363. The estimate value for the marijuana is $9,659,000, the plants $751,410. That’s a lot of monies and this is what is fueling a number of these incidents within our community and we will continue to go after these individuals with a view of disrupting their operations.”
