The Department of Labour held a job fair on the island of Grand Bahama as part of its Labour On The Blocks initiative. More than three hundred job seekers and thirty businesses participated in the event.
Acting Assistant Director, Simone Thurston was on hand and told ZNS News, “we expect this to have a major impact on Grand Bahamas because we have persons who are looking for employers and a lot of those persons, employers, they’re looking for employees now. And so this is the perfect opportunity.”
One of the businesses at the fair seeking employees was Carparde. The Royal Bahamas Police Force and the University of The Bahamas were also represented at the event.
