Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis and other government officials traveled to the island of Abaco were twelve families were presented with keys to new homes recently.
During a ceremony held to mark the occasion Mr. Davis said, “the handing over of these homes represents important progress for the people of Abaco as we continue to build back better than before years after the tragedy of Dorian.”
He further stated, “our plans must be expanded to fulfill the demand for more accessible homeownership opportunities. Affordable homeownership is at the heart of our agenda for a fairer and more prosperous Bahamas.”
Six of the twelve houses are located in Central Pines and the others in Spring City. Four of the homes are part of the government rent to own program.
