The government is addressing complaints filed by eight US airlines alleging discrimination in collection of Bahamian airspace fees.
Minister of the Tourism, Investments and Aviation, the Hon. Chester Cooper says the matter is a misunderstanding. “This will be resolved through dialogue with the airlines, through diplomacy but also we will respond appropriately through legal means to the actual complaint. So there are two prongs to our approach. Firstly, direct consultation with the airlines. Secondly, a legal response, we’ve retained local and US counsel and thirdly, a diplomatic response and we are confident that we will come to a resolve that in the best interest of the Bahamian people.”
