The Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas made a donation to the Demetrius Home and Care Center in Fox Hill. This latest donation is a continuation of the ZNS Gives Back initiative.
Chairman of the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas, Picewell Forbes, made the presentation and said, “this was a very important effort here in the Fox Hill community. The Demetrius family has a history here. Her father being one of the legacy citizens of this community. And we thought during the yuletide season to give back to the community in no small way. And this home has an occupancy level of I think about twenty to twenty five persons or so, seventeen are here on a consistent basis. And we realize no matter what, whatever you can do to contribute to make life a little easier for those who are the indigent or the challenged in our community or the elderly, it helps.”
Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Public Service and Member of Parliament for Fox Hill, the Hon. Fred Mitchell, was on hand for the presentation.
The Demetrius Home and Care Center was officially opened in October 2013 and is operated by the Department of Social Services.
