Bahamian women from all walks of life are invited to participate in the upcoming “Breaking Barriers – Building Futures” seminar series, hosted by retired judge Carol Munnings Misiewicz (Judge Carol). The third edition of this series will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 6pm at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas.
This women’s empowerment event brings together a diverse group of ladies for an unforgettable experience, gaining new insights and networking successfully to form meaningful bonds. The second edition of the series was held on June 25, 2025. Over two dozen women enjoyed an evening of conversation, connection, and personal development.
The featured guest speaker was Assistant Commissioner of Police Janet McKenzie, who shared her inspiring journey as one of the first women to reach such a senior position in the Royal Bahamas Police Force. Her story, marked by perseverance, dedication, and balance as a working mother, resonated deeply with attendees.
The seminar also featured interactive discussions, guided journaling, and space for reflection and community building. “The exchanges were real, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Judge Carol.
“People described the evening as ‘phenomenal,’ ‘enlightening,’ and ‘insightful’ – that’s exactly what we hoped to achieve.”
Support for the seminar was made possible by the Centre for Digestive Health, Summit Insurance, Family Pharmacy, Le Petit Gourmet, and Luryx – The Perfume Bar.
The Breaking Barriers series will continue with its third installment on . Women interested in participating are encouraged to follow Judge Carol on social media or visit her Eventbrite page for details.
