Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for Cat Island, Rum Cay and San Salvador, the Hon. Philip Davis, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Public Service, the Hon. Fred Mitchell and other government officials attended the opening of a new passport office in Arthur’s Town, Cat Island.
At a ceremony held to mark the occasion, Mr. Davis told attendees, “technology is allowing us to do for delivery of services in our Family Islands than we would have done in the past. And so we who are now here in the new technological age have the duty to ensure that we do what is necessary to remove all those inequities that we who are on the Family Islands suffer.”
Also bringing remarks was Chief Passport Officer, Kingsley Smith Jr. He said, “we are aggressively working to make obtaining a passport accessible to all Bahamians not only by the opening of satellite offices but also reviewing the policies and procedures that govern passport services.”
