The Bahamas Crisis Center held an exhibition at the Mall At Marathon on Friday highlighting child sexual abuse.
Bahamas Crisis Center Director, Dr. Sandra Dean-Patterson told reporters, “when we look at the children we have seen, just us alone, at the Crisis Center in 2025 it was over 200 children, boys and girls, between the ages of 3 and 17 all needing help as a result of being sexually violated, sexually exploited, sexually assaulted by known persons to them, persons who they trust and also some strangers.”
Wife of the Prime Minister, Mrs. Ann Marie Davis was also in attendance at the event which also drew attention to victims who have died due to gender based violence like D’Onya Bella Walker and Heavenly Terveus.
Mrs. Davis told the students in attendance, “you not here to be used, nor abused nor treated badly or treated as an object to satisfy the needs to these depraved people.”
