Closing Ceremony highlights for the 2022 National Family Island Regatta

The Closing Ceremony festivities for the National Family Island Regatta C & E Class Championship were held Saturday evening in George Town. The National Family Island Regatta resumed April 21-23, 2022 after a long sailing break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Deputy to the Governor General Cynthia Pratt, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance the Hon. Philip Davis, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation the Hon. Chester Cooper, and Minister of Agriculture, Marine Resources, and Family Island Affairs (with responsibility for Regattas) the Hon. Clay Sweeting together congratulated the Class C Champions, Patton Pride and made presentations to all trophy winners. 

Deputy to the Governor General Cynthia Pratt presented the Governor General’s Cup to ‘Patton Pride’, skippered by Mr. Stefan Knowles.  Prime Minister Davis presented the Prime Minister’s Cup to ‘Whitty K’, skippered by Mr. C. Burrows.  Minister of Agriculture, Marine Resources & Family Island Affairs the Hon. Clay Sweeting, along with Parliamentary Secretary Leonardo Lightbourne presented the crew of ‘One Bahamas’ (Class E) with the Ministry of Agriculture, Marine Resources & Family Island Affairs Cup.
