The Coalition Of Independents held its first convention over the weekend at the Marriot Hotel on Nassau Street. The Party ratified its constitution and held an election for officers at the one day event.
Party Leader, Lincoln Bain revealed that Dr. Veronica McIver will now serve as Deputy Leader while Charlotte Green remains National Chairperson. “And so we had several leadership changes but we think that this is the team that we need to take us into the next general election,” Bain said.
McIver believes that messaging will be the most important thing for the Party as it prepares for the next general elections. She said, “the people are going to have to know what our message is and identify with that. We would like to show them that we are separate and a part from the two mainstream parties.
For her part, Chairperson Charlotte Green said, “we are that party that plans on staying here, that plans on standing up and fighting for the people based on our vision.”
