In its quest to make employment opportunities more accessible to the Bahamian people, the Department of Labour hosted the second job fair for the year, which was staged in West Grand Bahama at the Obadiah H. Wilchcombe Complex in Eight Mile Rock on June 4, 2025. Area residents took full advantage of the prospect of being one of the hires in the more than 200 job vacancies. Freeport Harbour Company, Freeport Container Port, AML Foods Limited, Family Guardian Insurance Company, Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach were among the companies participating in the initiative. The job fairs are open to those who are unemployed, contemplating changing careers and seeking re-employment; applicants are automatically entered into the Department’s skills bank.
