Doctor’s Hospital Health Systems (DHHS) will be constructing a new medical facility on the island of Grand Bahama.

In a statement announcing the new venture, President of DHHS Charles Diggis said, “the hospital recognizes that an unmet need has existed in the healthcare landscape in Grand Bahama for decades and this groundbreaking is another milestone in Doctors Hospital’s commitment to the delivery of quality medical care in the northern Bahamas.”

The planned new facility is valued at $20 million and will include a 5000 square foot emergency room, 2 operating suites, labour and delivery suites and accommodations for local and visiting specialists.
